Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
Bringing Your Dream Closer, One Transfer at a Time
Service Description
Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) is a fertility treatment that uses embryos created earlier through IVF and safely frozen for future use. Many couples choose FET if they still have embryos stored from a previous cycle or wish to plan their pregnancy at a later, more suitable time. Here’s how the process works: 1. Preparing the uterus – You’ll take medication (usually tablets or injections) to thicken and prepare the womb lining, creating the best environment for an embryo to implant. 2. Monitoring – Ultrasound scans and sometimes blood tests are done to make sure the lining is at the right stage. 3. Thawing the embryo – In the lab, the selected frozen embryo is carefully thawed using advanced techniques to maintain its quality. 4. Transfer – The embryo is gently placed into the uterus through a fine, soft catheter. The procedure is usually quick, similar to a pap smear, and does not require anaesthesia. 5. Aftercare – You may be given medications to support implantation and will return for a pregnancy test about two weeks later. FET is a safe, less physically demanding option compared to a fresh IVF cycle, as your body doesn’t need to go through egg retrieval again. It gives embryos the chance to be used at the right time in your journey, with the process carried out in a calm, supportive, and professional setting.
